Kiwanis Club extends thanks

To the Editor:

The Kiwanis Club of Greencastle thanks the many people who attended and those who supported our pancake breakfast on May 15 during the Fair On The Square.

We served nearly 400 meals. All proceeds will be used for Kiwanis community projects. These include Riley Hospital for Children, college scholarships for local students, Putnam County Relay for Life, the Reality Store and others. Past efforts have included the Kiwanis Room at the Putnam County Public Library.

There were many people and organizations that helped in this year's effort. Thanks to: Residents and staff of ResCare and the Greencastle Key Club for their work; the Greencastle Fire Department firefighters for the use of their building; Chuck Phillips of No-Sail Splash Guard Company in Fincastle for donating the advertising yard signs; McDonalds, Arby's, Wal-Mart, Kroger, and the Walden Inn for donations; Greencastle Community School Corp. for use, delivery, and pick-up of tables; First Christian Church for the use of their kitchen; the Banner Graphic for good placement of our advertisement; Old National Bank on Indiana Street for the use of their basement for storage of our equipment.

Pancake mix, eggs, and sausage were provided by the food suppliers of ResCare.

It is through the support of the community that Kiwanis is able to fulfill its mission "to change the world one child and one community at a time."
