Putnam County Jail

Martin D. Gaw, 28, Indianapolis, was booked at 1:30 a.m. Saturday for possession of a controlled substance.

Derrick Grimes, 19, Greencastle, was booked at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday for public intoxication and consumption of alcohol by a minor.

James R. Hanger, 55, Greencastle, was booked at 7:02 p.m. Friday on a local warrant.

Christopher K. Hanneman, 21, Greencastle, was booked at 2:30 a.m. Saturday for resisting law enforcement, intimidation, theft, motor vehicle theft and disorderly conduct.

Edward W. Hilbert, 42, Greencastle, was booked at 7:55 p.m. Friday for public intoxication.

Richard A. Hilbert, 24, Cloverdale, was booked at 5:04 p.m. Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Edward R. Pickering, 37, Greencastle, was booked at 10:14 a.m. Sunday for invasion of privacy.

Samuel A. Robertson, 30, Spencer, was booked at 11 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant.

Dustin Shannon, 22, Cloverdale, was booked at 10:15 p.m. Sunday for battery and violation of probation.

Rodney L. Vesey, 54, no city listed, was booked at 1:08 a.m. Tuesday for the possession and selling of cocaine.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

David E. Hinkle of Shelburn was traveling on CR 150W at 4:21 p.m. Saturday, when he lost control of his vehicle while rounding a curve and struck a mailbox.

Kelsey N. Benskin of Quincy was traveling on US 231N at 8:04 a.m. Monday, when the tie rod on her vehicle broke.

Rebecca L. Kelley of Reelsville was traveling north on US 231 at 1:35 p.m. Saturday, when a southbound vehicle operated by Chad M. Buis attempted to make a left turn onto Mill Street in Cloverdale and the two vehicles collided.

Kelley was transported to Putnam County Hospital with a possible fracture to her right ankle. Buis was not injured. Cloverdale Fire Department assisted at the scene. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed Kelley's vehicle.

Beverly Neumann of Greencastle was sitting at a stop light on Indianapolis Road at 3:31 p.m. Monday, when a vehicle operated by Jennifer Taylor of Greencastle struck the back of her vehicle. There was less than $1,001 estimated in damages.

James D. McCullough of Reelsville was traveling on CR 375W near Greencastle at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, when he lost control of his vehicle while rounding a curve due to wet pavement and struck a fire hydrant.

Greencastle Police Department

The following seatbelt violations were cited by Greencastle Police Department on Friday:

* Ted Francher, 76, Greencastle, on E. Washington Street

* Stacie Harris, 20, Reelsville, on E. Washington Street

* Brian Christy, 44, Greencastle, on Franklin Street

* Harvey King, 70, Greencastle, on E. Washington Street

* Aaron Pena, 24, Greencastle, on E. Washington Street

* Bruce Lagle, 47, Greencastle, on E. Washington Street

* Nadire Islami, 30, Greencastle, on E. Washington Street

The following tickets were issued by GPD:

Peter Penni III, 22, Greencastle, was stopped on E. Washington St. at 3:20 p.m. Friday and cited for a seatbelt violation and not having a license in possession.

Rustin P. Mundy, 37, Greencastle, was stopped on E. Washington St. at 4:48 p.m. Friday and cited for driving while suspended and no insurance.

Tadd Clark, 18, Plainfield, was stopped on Fillmore Road and 8:38 p.m. Saturday and cited for speeding -- 59 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Luke Wagner, 21, Terre Haute, was stopped on S. Bloomington St. at 12:29 a.m. Sunday and cited for driving with a suspended license and speeding -- 52 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Suzan Abraham, 25, Fort Wayne, was stopped on S. Bloomington St. at 4 a.m. Monday and cited for driving with a suspended license.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to Greencastle Presbyterian Church, 653 CR 100E, at 7:37 a.m. Saturday for an alarm. It was reset and they were back in service at 7:53 a.m.

Crews were dispatched Keightly Road at 10:25 p.m. Saturday to assist Operation Life, but were disregarded upon arriving at the scene. They were back in service at 10:45 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to US 40 at 8:15 a.m. Monday to provide equipment for accident cleanup for Jefferson Township. They were back in service at 9 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 109 W. Hanna St. at 3:17 p.m. Monday for a smoke alarm due to an unattended skillet on the stove. They were back in service at 3:33 p.m.

Crews were dispatched 316 Medic Way at 3:35 p.m. Monday for an electrical short. They were back in service at 4:05 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Bloomington and Anderson streets at 4:19 p.m. Monday assisted Operation Life with an accident involving a vehicle and a bicycle. They were back in service at 4:42 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 619 Seminary St. at 9:05 p.m. Monday for an electrical short in a meter box. They were back in service at 10:27 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 405 S. Jackson St. at 1:53 a.m. Tuesday for an alarm. They were disregarded and back in service at 1:56 a.m.
