GHS Honored

Monday, June 14, 2010
Greencastle High School was recently honored for its success in advanced placement (AP) exams. In 2006, just 3.4 percent of GHS graduates passed an AP exam at some point during high school. By 2009, that number jumped to 21.2 percent. The Indiana Department of Education honored GHS and other schools at a luncheon in downtown Indianapolis on June 2. Pictured at the luncheon are, from left, College Board Vice President for Advanced Placement Trevor Packer, Greencastle Schools Superintendent Bob Green, State Superintendent of Instruction Tony Bennett, GHS teacher Karen Swalley, GHS counselor Shannon Fritz and Commissioner of Higher Education Teresa Lubbers.

  • This honor is a combination of parents valuing education and outstanding instruction from the GHS staff. Congratulations to all
