Passing the Baton

Thursday, July 1, 2010
At this year's Rotary District 6560 annual meeting, outgoing club presidents were given batons to pass to the new presidents when the time came. Greencastle Rotary Club's Murray Pride, above left, took the suggestion literally, as he passed the baton to 2010-11 president Bob Green as if they were running a 4X100. At Wednesday's meeting, Pride was also honored as a Paul Harris Fellow by District Governor Judy Hollander. Below, Pride's wife Sara had the privilege of pinning her husband with his new honor. Pride thanked his fellow members for making his year as president such a success. "I believe our club -- not just me, not just the board, but us, all of us -- have exemplified what Rotary is all about, which is service above self," Pride said.
