To the Editor:

This past weekend, Robe-Ann Park was filled with activities, family moments, good food and entertainment, temperatures in the 90s (with no rain, for a change), and a most festive, colorful fireworks display. We worked to prepare and gathered to celebrate our country's birthday and the many men and women who have and continue to give of themselves to protect our freedoms and families.

On behalf of the Friends of the Park and the citizens of the greater Greencastle community, I would like to thank the many people, businesses and organizations who help to make this year's Celebrate 4 event such a success. First, to Rod Weinschenk and his park staff for all of their efforts to make the two days of programming happen, seemingly, with little difficulty.

Our financial sponsors were Aaron's Inc, the Banner Graphic, DePauw University, Heartland Automotive, The INN at DePauw, Vectren Foundation, Big Bounce Fun House Rentals, Duke Energy, Headley Hardware, Wal-Mart Stores, Wal-Mart Supercenter, WREB, Buzzi Unicem, Chiyoda, Cinergy Metronet, Crowe Horwath, FB Distro, HBG Insurance, Hannum Wagle & Cline, Hendricks Power, Jackson Hewitt, Greencastle Kiwanis Club, Dr. Dale Oliver, Putnam County Convention and Visitors Bureau, AA Huber and Sons, Carpenters Local No. 859, DLZ IN, Madonna Gose and the Hoosier Topics. We couldn't have done it without you.

Special thanks to Phyllis and Ryan Rokicki, Jan Firebaugh, Linda Huber, Shannon Norman, Laurie Hardwick, Ann Clark, Dr. John Scamahorn, Mark Miller, Melanie Welker, Jackie Baughman, Christie Reutemann, Boy Scout Troop 99, Jim Hardwick, Brian Pohlar, The Greencastle Police Department, Bob Campbell and the Greencastle Fire Department, Teddy Shuck and Putnam Country Comprehensive Services, Adam Cohen, our musical entertainers and food vendors, and all who came to celebrate our nation's freedom.

Sue Murray and Greencastle Friends of the Park
