Greencastle Police Department

Andrew R. King of Greencastle turned into the former Blockbuster parking lot on Indianapolis Road at 6:59 p.m. Wednesday, when his brakes failed, causing his vehicle to collide with a vehicle driven by Pamela Johnson of Greencastle, which was baking out of a parking space.

Damages were estimated between $750 and $1,000.

The following ticket was issued by GPD:

Melinda Dewees, 36, Carmel, was stopped on Round Barn Road at 9:48 a.m. Thursday and cited for speeding -- 45 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Putnam County Jail

Adrian B. Fisher, 19, Fillmore, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 1:52 p.m. Thursday for violation of probation.

Jay Grigsby, 33, Brazil, was booked at 12:07 p.m. Thursday for violation of probation.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Paula R. Vardaman of Cloverdale was traveling on CR 950E near Belle Union at 12:28 p.m. Tuesday, when she rounded a curve and a vehicle operated by Ruby J. Jones of Cloverdale struck her vehicle.

No injuries were reported. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to Greencastle Middle School, 400 S. Percy Julian, at 8:33 a.m. Thursday for an active alarm. They were back in service at 8:43 a.m.
