David E. 'Brownie' Brown

David E. "Brownie" Brown, 67, of Monrovia passed away July 25, 2010.

He was born in Indianapolis on April 7, 1943, son of Herbert and Edna Dauby Brown.

He was a 1961 graduate of Amo High School and a graduate of Indiana Barber College. He had owned Brownie's Barber Shop in Amo, was the general manager of 76 Truck Stop in Clayton for 23 years, owned the Wilbur Corner Shop for 10 years, owned Brown's Market in Coatesville for four years and had been a freight handler at FedEx for four years. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Country Chapel Church and Coatesville Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Tamara Marsh Brown, who he married on Aug. 25, 1984; son David L. "Duke" Brown" and fiancée, Jennifer, both of Clayton; daughter Jill L. Fossett and husband Skip of Georgia; grandchildren Lauren Taylor Brown, Woody Brown, David Joseph Brown, Marley Claire Fossett and Lindsey Laurette Fossett; sisters Linda Trout and husband Rodney of Coatesville and Virginia "Ginny" Salsman and husband Larry of Westfield; and mother-in-law Dorothy Marsh of Monrovia.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hazelwood Christian Church, 9947 S. County Road 0 in Clayton with the Rev. Frank Sams and the Rev. Steve Ranson officiating.

Arrangements were handled by Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville.
