Tiger Cubs move to 2-0 on the season

The Greencastle boys' soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season following its 4-1 win over Lebanon Thursday on the road.

Greencastle dominated play in the first half and led 2-0 on goals by Sonney Basham and Brandon Query.

Mitchell Ball scored with 19:30 to play in the second half to extend the lead to 3-0. Lebanon scored on a deflection with 13:13 remaining and Query added his second goal at 12:35.

In the JV match Jon Good scored first to give GHS a 1-0 lead, with an assist from Oscar Mitchell. Lebanon tied the game five minutes later. Nick Tharp added a goal to put The Tiger Cubs back on top 2-1, but Lebanon answered with 9:43 to play and again tied the score.

The Greencastle varsity team traveled to Greenfield Central on Saturday to participate in the Cougar Cup tournament where it will face Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter in the opening match.
