CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale volleyball team earned its second win of the season by defeating West Vigo in four games Thursday. The Clovers won 26-24, 25-23, 22-25 and 25-23.

"We had a big turnaround from Tuesday night's match, we looked like a different team tonight (Thursday)," CHS head coach Kathy Moore said. "The difference tonight was our hustle. We talked about huddling up to celebrate or support, just to get us moving and not standing like we did against Clay City.

"Our passing and serving were better tonight and we played aggressively at the net. After we moved Breegan to libero our passing has gotten better and more consistant," she said.

Breegan Anderson had 10 digs and 11 points on the night, with Bristy Skiles adding 10 assists and six points. Bradanne Toney recorded 18 kills, five blocks and nine points and Holly McCammon had eight kills and 12 points.

Mariah Oetken had three kills, three blocks and seven points, with Stacia Shepherd adding nine points, 12 assists and five kills on the night. Taylor Jones had four kills and Paige Gruener had eight digs for the Clovers.

"We also had better focus tonight, we knew what we had to do and then did it," Moore commented. "We matched up well with West Vigo and it was really a great match to watch. There were some fantastic saves by both teams."

The Cloverdale junior varsity team lost its match 25-20, 22-25 and 9-15.
