DANVILLE -- The Greencastle girls' cross country team won the McCutcheon Invite Saturday with a score of 32.

"The meet was on a very challenging course much like the one at Fountain Central last week with one long steep hill in the course," Greencastle head coach Garry Anderson said. "I thought the girls did a decent job of racing throughout the meet. They were able to attack the upside of the hill and pass people along the rest of the course. I was especially pleased with our freshmen. They are really making progress so far."

Colleen Weatherford paced the Tiger Cubs with her first place finish in a time of 21:29.44. Emily Gill finished fourth with a time of 22:19.85, with Paige Pickens placing 7th with a time of 22:49.41. Kayla Cash rounded out the Tiger Cubs' top 10 finishers with her ninth place finish in a time of 22:59.41.

Abigail Wilson was 11th with a time of 23:28.41, with Faith Fear finishing 15th in a time of 24:12.27.

Megan Hayes was 24th with a time of 25:22, with Cheyenne Fauvergue placing 29th with a time of 26:32 and Brooke Plummer placing 33rd with a time of 26:49. Jasmine Dwigans was 35th in 27:03, Madison Harbaugh was 41st in 27:52 and Katie Burns was 47th in 29:33. Olivia Humphreys was 61st in a time of 34:24.

Anderson was pleased with his runners across the board for their performance at the McCutcheon Invite.

"We had fantastic results with our front people being able to meet the challenge of Kankakee Valley, a tough cross country program, down to the finish including the last hill of the race," Anderson said. "Sophomore Colleen Weather really looked good winning the entire event and was supported by fourth place junior Emily Gill, seventh place junior Paige Pickens and Kayla Cash, a sophomore, who finished ninth and 11th place finisher freshman Abigail Wilson."

He also noted Gill, Pickens, Cash, Wilson, Fear, Hayes, Plummer and Burns all had season person records during the race.
