DePauw alumni invited to Old Gold Weekend

GREENCASTLE -- Alumni of DePauw are invited back to campus for the University's annual homecoming celebration. Old Gold Weekend will take place Friday through Sunday, Oct. 8-10.

Events will include the annual Old Gold football game as well as field hockey and men's soccer contests, a networking luncheon for students and alumni and the Tucker E. Wilson Alumni Series, hosted by the Association of African-American Students.

The football game against the Rhodes College Lynx will start at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 at Blackstock Stadium. Halftime activities will include introducing the winners of the Old Gold Goblet, Young Alumni Award and Distinguished Alumni Awards. The Old Gold King and Queen will also be crowned.

Among the alumni who will be honored at the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Awards dinner on Friday evening include Don R. Daseke, who will receive the Old Gold Goblet, and James A. Tours will also be available of the DePauw Nature Park all day and at the Richard E. Peeler Art Center galleries from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

DePauw's first Old Gold celebration took place in 1907, 70 years after the founding of the university.
