Offensively Toney had 20 kills and Oetken and McCammon had five kills each. On the defensive side, Oetken had five blocks, Toney three and Shepherd with one. Andersen had nine digs and Paige Gruener three. Shepherd led the team with 14 set assists and Skiles had eight.

"We are learning as we go that you cannot sit back and enjoy a win, you have to move on and be ready for the next opponent," Cloverdale head coach Cathy Moore said. "Tonight (Tuesday) we learned that lesson and hopefully we will grow and mature into a more balanced team. We really traded kill for kill tonight with Shakamak and it could have gone either way. We are still making too many errors defensively and we need to improve our coverage. Thursday night we travel to Monrovia for a WCC conference match and it is important that we play well."

The Clover JV defeated the Lakers in two sets, winning 25-16 and 25-14. Leading the Cloverdale junior varsity was Adrianna Patterson with eight kills and Rebekah Jordan with six. Katie Fulkerson scored 10 points for the Clovers.
