Understand Property Tax Caps

Confused about the 2010 Tax Cap Constitutional Referendum? Want to know more facts before voting on Nov. 2?

The League of Women Voters, a non-partisan organization, is sponsoring a talk at 7 p.m. this evening by Purdue University Professor Larry DeBoer.

The presentation will take place in the Putnam County Library in the Kiwanis Room, and is titled "Really Understanding the Property Tax Caps." It will present both the pros and cons of what a vote for or against the measure would mean.

Temple Lodge No. 47 meets today

A meeting of Temple Lodge No. 47 will be held today.

Light refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7:30 p.m.

Food distribution set for tonight

Whitestone Food Pantry will have a food distribution from 5 to 7 p.m. today. The pantry is located at 8045 W. U.S. 36 in Coatesville.

Distribution is geared toward needy residents in Floyd Township, Putnam County and Marion Township, Hendricks County. Recipients must provide a government-issued photo ID, and another form of identification (such as a utility bill).
