TERRE HAUTE -- Fresh off a Wednesday show at ISU's Wolf Field, Chicago's Dot Dot Dot will be playing a pair of shows in nearby college towns this weekend. The band will be back in Terre Haute at the Ballyhoo at 10 p.m. Friday and at Bloomington's Bluebird at 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

The group's mix of influences produces catchy, danceable rock tunes whose fun is contagious. The live show is more of the same.

"It's high-energy, sweaty, fun and forget about your day," bassist and vocalist Little Lisa said. "It really is a bunch of fun."

Since forming in 2007, the band has gained notoriety on Fox's "The Next Great American Band" and pretty much toured incessantly. The band recently released the EP "II." Their plan for releasing music in shorter formats reflects their constant touring.

"The reason we put the EPs together is we tour so much," Lisa said. "We're constantly playing, so we're doing five songs at a time and just releasing them as soon as they're done. It's just so that we can keep releasing music. Honestly, people aren't buying records -- they're buying singles, they're downloading off of iTunes. We want to be accessible all the time."

Lisa said the band's next EP will be out around Christmas, and will be a sort of third act to the last two releases.

"It's actually a cohesive piece. When you lay the albums out next to each other, it's going to be like putting a puzzle together. It's just a fun concept that we put together."

In criss-crossing the country, the group has played its share of show here in the Hoosier state, where Lisa said things have gone well.

"Indiana has been just amazing for us. It's been fantastic," she said.
