North Putnam splits with Cascade

ROACHDALE -- North Putnam's seventh grade fell to a powerful Cascade squad 18-0. The Cougars' top players on the evening included Bradley Hodges, Jimmy Rutter, Devondre Burrell, and Trevor Binghman. The loss drops the Cougars to 3-3 on the season.

The eighth grade team won a dramatic victory over Cascade by the score of 8-0. North received the opening kickoff and drove the field for the game's only score.

Cole Dean ran for the touchdown and Aaron Wesley ran for the extra points. From that point, North played very physical defense including a goal line stand in the second half.

Defensive leaders were Jacob Riggen, Travis Pearl, Daniel Allee, and Jensen Conlin. The Cougars improved their record to 3-2 and will host Fountain Central Tuesday evening.
