Boat car, ahoy!

Friday, October 1, 2010
Greg Troy has driven his boat car vehicle, a 3/4-ton GMC van, across the country 15 times. Pictured, he and Alex Hyten stand in mermaid gear on Troy's boat-car. Troy said he is trying for a second time to appear on the "Tonight Show." Troy said he goes between 100 and 200 miles a day. He said he hopes to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. "It gets 12 miles a gallon and 100 smiles a mile," Troy said. Hyten works at the Dairy Castle, where the boat-car was parked. Rob Best, the owner of the Dairy Castle talked with Troy about making a boat-car for Greencastle next summer. "I think it's cool," Best said.

  • This is a great picture, and a great idea. Would also have made a great feature article!
