Extension Homemakers help fight cancer

Wednesday, October 20, 2010
Members of the Tuesday Tigers Extension Homemakers Club received the gift of a handmade 'Flower Basket' pattern quilt from Dorlis Deaton at their October meeting. Deaton is a member of the newly formed Extension Homemaker Quilt Club named A Stitch in Time. Members of the Tuesday Tigers will use the quilt as part of their fundraising project for this year's Putnam County Relay for Life. Deaton, who is a cancer survivor, said she made the quilt to benefit cancer research and was glad to give it to the club, which has supported the local fight against cancer as one of their major community outreach projects since the club began. For more information about Extension Homemakers or how to join or form a new club, contact membership co-chairs Dorothy Wells at 653-3586 or Bonnie Bryan at 739-6101. Extension Homemakers Week is this week until Saturday. Contributed photo
