Teachers of Tomorrow to take place Nov. 18

TERRE HAUTE -- High school students, transfer students and anyone interested in becoming a teacher is invited to attend the annual Teachers of Tomorrow program at Indiana State University on Nov. 18.

Parents and families are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The Teachers of Tomorrow program is designed to give those interested in teaching an opportunity to experience what it would be like to pursue a career in education at Indiana State.

As part of the program, participants will tour the Indiana State University campus, meet with professors, students and faculty advisers in the Bayh College of Education and attend a "mini-class" session.

For those interested in specific areas of education, there will be three different mini-class sessions offered: elementary education, special education and secondary education.

Participants will also have the opportunity to gain firsthand experience about the ways in which ISU's curriculum prepares students to be both educators and leaders.

Other aspects of the program include information about financial aid programs, scholarships and other ways to finance an education at ISU.

Representatives from ISU's study abroad and Honors programs will be available to answer questions and provide information.

The event, held in ISU's University Hall, will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Admission, parking, breakfast and lunch are provided free of charge. Parking will be available in Lot 15.
