Putnam County Sheriff's Department

* Nov. 5, 7:20 a.m.: Annabeth Smith, 75, Cloverdale, was westbound on U.S. 40W in a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer when a deer came across the road from the south and she could not avoid hitting it.

Damage $1,001-$2,500.

* Nov. 7, 1:25 p.m.: Jack A. Heylmann, 65, Greencastle, driving the Madison Township Fire Department tanker truck, was westbound on CR 175S. The truck was responding, in ­­emergency mode, to a field/woods fire at 7371 W. CR 175S. Heylmann said as he approached the scene and slowed to stop, his vehicle was struck in the rear by Natasha N. Adamson, 21, Greencastle, in a 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Heylmann said that due to dust on the road, he was unaware a vehicle was following him. Adamson said she was following the truck but did not see it stop due to the dust. Skid marks indicated Adamson's vehicle slid approximately 58 feet before impacting the fire trucks.

Operation Life personnel checked out both Adamson and the 11-month-old passenger of her car. Both appeared unhurt, and a medical release was obtained.

Damage $10,001-$25,000.

Nov. 2, 1:39 p.m.: Assisted Fillmore Fire Department with woodland fire, 1182 S. CR 525E, Fillmore. Cleared 2:26 p.m.

Nov. 3, 3:58 a.m.: Active alarm at 215 Wood St. No fire found. Smell of smoke was from new furnace. Cleared 4:47 a.m.

Nov. 3, 6:44 p.m.: Alarm due to cooking at 330 Greenwood Ave. Cleared 6:59 p.m.

Nov. 4, 11:16 a.m.: Chemical odor at Putnam County Hospital, 1 W. Washington St. No spill or leak found. Cleared 11:22 p.m.

Nov. 5, 2:18 a.m.: Alarm at 402 Anderson St. Disregarded before leaving 2:21 a.m.

Nov. 5, 11:56 a.m.: Active alarm at 402 Anderson St. No fire found. Cleared 12:18 p.m.

Nov. 6, 10:13 a.m.: Medical assist at 98 N. 10th St. Cleared 10:39 a.m.

Nov. 7, 7:46 p.m.: Wiring problem at 1218 S. Bloomington St. No fire. Duke contacted. Cleared 8:24 p.m.

Nov. 7, 10:37 p.m.: Alarm at 408 S. Locust St. Caused by overheated motor on fan. Cleared 11:09 p.m.

Greencastle Police Department

* Nov. 5, 10:14 p.m., Cole T. Cooper, 18, Centerpoint, driving a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria, was standing outside of the vehicle which was on the north side of Veterans Memorial Highway in a ditch. Cooper advised the vehicle must have locked up on him.

Cooper was jailed for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated per se and cited for expired license plate and no proof of insurance.

Vehicle towed by Jerry's Wrecker Service.

Damage $2,500-$5,000.

* Nov. 6, 2010, 12:27 p.m., Andreah R. Caldwell, 27, Danville, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet KTA in the Walmart parking lot located at 1750 Indianapolis Road when she advised she had spilled her drink, went to grab it then struck a pole in the parking lot.

Vehicle towed by Jerry's Wrecker Service.

Damages $1,001 to $2,500.

* Nov. 6, 2010, 7:23 p.m., Mushtaq Ahangar, 37, Greencastle, was driving a 2009 Honda AXL westbound on State Road 240E when a deer ran into the passenger side of his vehicle.

Damages $1,001 to $2,500.

Nov. 8, 7:54 a.m., Bloomington Street: Katerine Dunlap, 63, Terre Haute, speeding 45 mph in a 30 mph zone.
