GREENCASTLE -- A seventh continuance has been granted for the trial of a Greencastle woman accused of injuring four people during a Sept. 19, 2009 bar fight at Old Topper Tavern in Greencastle.

Treva Jackson, 36, is charged with four charges of Class C felony battery by means of a deadly weapon. If convicted on all charges, Jackson could be sentenced to up to 32 years in prison.

Jackson's trial was set for Nov. 24, but has now been continued to Jan. 19.

Two days after the incident at her initial hearing, Jackson pled not guilty to all charges. Her bond was set at $20,000 cash.

A bond reduction request for Jackson was granted on Oct. 13, 2009, allowing 10 percent to be posted. Two days later, Jackson's bond was posted and she was released from jail.

Putnam County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Headley ordered that, as a condition of her bond, Jackson would be required to be on electronic home monitoring through Putnam County Community Corrections.

A motion to release Jackson from home monitoring was filed on Nov. 12, 2009. Headley denied the motion.

On Sept. 20, Putnam County Community Corrections filed a motion to terminate Jackson from the program because of violations.

Court records said Jackson was over $200 behind on the fees she was required to pay to be on house arrest.

A report prepared by community corrections officer Rebecca Brush also alleged that Jackson admitted to consuming alcohol regularly, and that a search of Jackson's home and vehicle turned up evidence that supported that admission.

Officers also found a knife in Jackson's car, and another term of her bond was that she not possess any weapons.

Jackson's bond was revoked that day, and she was ordered held without bond pending trial.

Several attorneys have also been assigned to the case, some of whom were court-appointed. Jackson is currently represented by Bainbridge-based attorney James Holder Jr.

The charges against Jackson stem from an incident at Old Topper in which it is alleged that a verbal argument between Jackson and another female bar patron escalated into physical violence.

Court records said Jackson pulled a knife on the woman, and that the woman and three men who tried to break up the fight were injured.

Originally, Jackson's trial was set for Feb. 24. It was then continued and reset three times -- for May 12, July 14 and July 28.

A week before her July 28 trial, Jackson indicated she wished to enter a change of plea. That hearing was set for July 21, then continued to Aug. 19.

At her Aug. 19 hearing, Jackson told the court she had changed her mind and still wanted a jury trial.

The trial date was then set for Oct. 6; it was later continued to Nov. 24.
