Charles M. "Charlie" Jenkins, 84, of Greencastle passed away on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010.

He was born on Dec. 3, 1925 in Avon to Charles Lester Jenkins and Mary Edith Clark Jenkins.

He was a 1944 graduate of Fillmore High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Charlie had owned and operated the Jenkins Standard and Amoco Station in Greencastle and was a member of Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his daughter, Debra Stewart of Coatesville; grandson, Jes Seipel of Greencastle; sister, Leona Mae Leedy of Plainfield; sister-in-laws, Dorothy F. Jenkins of Avon, Ruth Hanlon of Greencastle and Wanda Sutton of Cunot; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary K. Sutton Jenkins; brothers, Roscoe C. Jenkins, Harold E. Jenkins, Kenneth Jenkins; sister-in-law, Marjorie Jenkins; brother-in-laws, Jack Hanlon and Stanley Sutton; and a grandson, Rex Charles Seipel.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Staggers officiating.

Entombment with honors will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charlie will be remembered for his love of family. He was an avid Colts fan, enjoyed basketball and loved to play cards.

Memorials in Charlie's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
