Gary M. Roper

Gary M. Roper, 58, Fillmore, passed away on Dec. 28, 2010 at his residence. He was born on Nov. 4, 1952 in Centralia, Ill. and was the son of Lee Roy and Peggy Ann (Morris) Roper.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Abney) Roper; his mother, Peggy Ann Roper Backs; his sisters, Loretta Nielsen and husband Rick, Pamela Strouse and husband Ken and Sue Wunderlich and husband Ron and his brother, LeeRoy Roper, Jr. and wife Kathy. He was a signal man for CSX Railroads and enjoyed his guitar, Harley-Davidson and fishing.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. There will be no services.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Roy Roper.
