GREENCASTLE -- The Putnam County Museum invites the public to participate in a development of a new permanent exhibit that will feature Indiana native plants, mainly flowers.

This outdoor exhibit will consist of three raised flower boxes that will adorn the Museum's entrance and parking lot area. The first-of-its-kind display at the museum is meant to educate and show off the natural history and richness of the state's flora.

The museum welcomes any type of support and contributions to the exhibit. The list of necessary materials includes wood chips, treated lumber, nails, garden soil, and top soil.

Financial donations will also be accepted. The project is under the leadership of Matthew White, a local boy scout, and is scheduled for completion by late spring 2011.

For more information or to make a donation for the Indiana plants exhibit, contact the museum director Tanis Monday at 653-8419 or via e-mail museum@co.putnam.in.us.
