New sentencing set for Rossok

GREENCASTLE -- A new sentencing date has been set for a Greencastle woman facing a charge of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Elizabeth A. Rossok, 20, was set to be sentenced on Jan. 27. On Jan. 25, Rossok's attorney filed a motion for an emergency continuance.

That motion was granted by Putnam County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Headley later that day. Headley reset Rossok's sentencing for March 31.

A warrant for Rossok's arrest was issued on Nov. 10, and she turned herself in to authorities.

Rossok's attorney, Todd Sallee, informed the court at his client's initial hearing that Rossok wished to waive her right to a jury trial and request a change of plea hearing.

On Dec. 2, Rossok pled guilty to one count of Class D felony sexual misconduct with a minor and one count of Class A felony contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Rossok could be sentenced to up to four years in jail.

Rossok is a former coach for a local youth softball league for girls 14 and younger.

The charges against her stem from a relationship she had with a girl she had coached.

  • I believe contributing to the delinquency of a minor is an A misdemeanor, not an A felony.
