GREENCASTLE -- In the spirit of teamwork taught by high school sports, York Chevrolet Buick GMC, Inc. is partnering with Greencastle High School through Chevy Drive for Athletics, a program designed to support local high school athletic departments with a monetary donation and an opportunity to help them raise funds.

Greencastle High School will have the opportunity to raise as much as $50,000 through a fundraising opportunity where 23 finalists will be selected to participate in an "Indy 500 Experience". One lucky finalist will win a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze.

York Chevrolet Buick GMC, Inc. and other Central Indiana Chevrolet dealerships are donating these prizes to participating schools in the area. One-hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the schools, and they can use the funds in any way they choose.

Some schools plan to put the money raised towards entry fees and travel for tournaments, while others will use the funds to improve fields and equipment, scoreboards and uniforms.

"We are proud to be able to help the students and schools in our community by giving them the opportunity to raise much-needed funds for their school's athletic department. We are excited to be part of the effort this year, and are proud of our relationship with Greencastle High School," said Rob York of York Chevrolet Buick GMC, Inc..

A one-time monetary donation check will be presented by York Chevrolet Buick GMC, Inc. to Greencastle High School. The school will also have an opportunity to raise additional funds for their school as part of a Chevy Drive for Athletics Fundraiser. Sponsored schools will each receive 10,000 fundraiser-entry tickets to distribute for a suggested donation, and the school will keep 100 percent of proceeds raised. At the end of the fundraiser, there will be 23 winners of an Indy 500 Experience and one winner of a Chevy Cruze (up to $17,920 in value).
