Fillmore man missing
A Fillmore man has gone missing and the Putnam County Sheriff's Department is looking for information regarding his whereabouts.
James Brandon Barnett, 32, was last seen near his Fillmore home Sunday around 4 p.m., according to Putnam County chief deputy Doug Nally.
"He was actually on a Dixie Chopper," Nally said. "We've been searching the area, searching potential places (he might be) such as family and friends, and we've got nothing."
Family members said Barnett is between 5'5" and 5'6", and weighs around 160 to 170 lbs. He has short hair and often wears a baseball cap. He may be wearing a leaf pattern hunting jacket. His Dixie Chopper is silver, with a white winch on the front.
"If anyone has seen anyone on a Dixie Chopper, please call," said Betty Metz, Barnett's mother.
Donna Dearwester, Barnett's aunt, said that Barnett wouldn't leave without telling anyone.
"We just know that he wouldn't just leave town. He and his son are so tight. He took him for rides all the time, he took him to work all the time," Dearwester said.
Dearwester said the family has been checking everywhere around Fillmore.
"Someone has to have seen him," Dearwester said. "I mean, it's February and he's riding a lawnmower."
Anyone with any information about James Brandon Barnett or a man riding a Dixie Chopper is asked to call the Putnam County Sheriff's Department at 653-3211.
