Tiger Cubs defeat Cougars

ROACHDALE -- The Greencastle seventh and eighth grade girls' basketball teams picked up wins over North Putnam Monday. The seventh grade team won 26-16, while the eighth graders won 41-6.

The seventh graders were led by Paige Bragg with six points, followed by Allison White with five. White also chipped in four rebounds and two steals.

Marley and Megan Haltom scored four each, with Sage Klinger adding three and Lucy Hayes and Kenlee Johnson scored two each.

North Putnam was led by Jenny Heron and Taylor Neuert with four points each. Rachel Sims and Adri Millican chipped in two point each in the loss.

For the eighth grade squad, Sydney Smiley led the Tiger Cub charge with nine points. Callan Taylor and Taylor Stoltey followed with seven each and Jessica Lenihan chipped in four points.

Tera Amis and Sydney Stuchwisch scored three points each for GMS. Brittany Welker, Sydney Secrest, Delanie Stoltey and Lauren Bridgewater all scored two points each in the win.

Shay Lucas led North Putnam with four points and Kaitlin Mindiola added two points.

Greencastle will be back in action today as they host Speedway at 6 p.m.
