Tiger Cubs suffer losses Thursday

GREENCASTLE -- Coming off an impressive 57-0 win over Speedway earlier in the week, the Greencastle eighth grade girls' basketball team struggled Thursday. The Tiger Cubs were unable to overcome a scoreless first quarter and lost to Monrovia 24-18.

Callan Taylor led GMS with seven points, with Jessica Lenihan with five. Sydney Smiley scored three, while Delanie Stoltey scored two and Sydney Stuckwisch added one point in the loss.

The Tiger Cubs will be back in action Tuesday when they, and the seventh grade A-team, travel to Tuttle for a 6 p.m. tip.

WRESTLING

The Greencastle Middle School wrestling team moved to 4-2 on the season with a 68-38 loss to Southmont Thursday.

Picking up wins for the Tiger Cubs were Devin Clar, Tyler Ralson, Nathan Tesmer, Nick Capps, Jake Mundy and Mark Coghill.
