Hester Mary I. Rissler

Hester Mary I. Rissler, 92, long-time resident of Putnam and Clay counties, died Thursday, March 3.

Mrs. Rissler was born in Putnam County and is the daughter of John W. and Mary E. (Muncie) Blair.

She graduated from Reelsville High School and was a member of New Winchester Baptist Church.

She married Rev. Raymond Rissler on Sept. 1, 1939, who passed away on Feb. 8, 2010.

Mrs. Rissler was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sisters Hilda Baumunk, Helen Akers, Harriet Neier, Hila Emmert.

She is survived by daughter Patricia and husband William Hallett, Canadaigua, N.Y., sons James Rissler, Kissimmee, Fla., and Rev. Donald (Laila) Rissler, Brazil, grandchildren Sheri Kershner, Michael Hallett, Brian, Kimberly, Mark and Amy Rissler and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, at Moore Funeral Home, 142 N. Washington St., Brazil, at 10 a.m., with Dr. James Walter officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery, Greencastle. Visitation will be at the funeral home, Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
