Tiger Cubs split with North Clay

GREENCASTLE -- The Greencastle eighth grade girls' basketball A and B teams split with North Clay Thursday. The A-team lost 42-27, while the B-team won 26-24.

Callan Taylor led the A-team squad with 12 points, followed by Taylor and Delanie Stoltey with four points each. Lauren Bridgewater scored three and Jessica Lenihan added two. Sydney Smiley and Sydney Secrest chipped in a point each.

In B-team action, Secrest led the way with eight points, with Taylor and Delanie Stoltey and Bridgewater chipping in four points each. The trio of Sammy Newcomer, Breanna Ferrand and Kaitlin Alexander added two points each.

The team's will compete in the Putnam County tournament Tuesday with the seventh grade team tipping at 6 p.m.
