Howard 'Clarke' Hendrich

Howard "Clarke" Hendrich, 86, Greencastle, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2011.

He was born on Nov. 30, 1924 in Putnam County to Charles and Onald Brackney Hendrich.

Mr. Hendrich served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Clarke was a lifelong farmer in Putnam County. He was a member of Brick Chapel United Methodist Church, VFW, Scottish Rite and O.E.S.

Surviving are his children, Hal Hendrich and wife Gayle of Avon, Beth Hendrich of Greencastle, Kathy Robinson and husband Keith of Mio, Mich. and Joanna Hansen and husband Bill of Greencastle; two sisters, Josephine Denovchek of Sebring, Ohio, and Crystal Sisson of Vacerville, Calif.; sister-in-law, Louella Hendrich; special friend Charlotte Gould; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marian Gwen Hendrich on Dec. 16, 1992, and a brother, Donavan Hendrich.

The family will receive friends today from noon until 2 p.m. at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home. Graveside Services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Brick Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Paul Taylor officiating.
