Appreciative to those who helped find her dog

To the Editor:

I wanted to thank three wonderful samaritans who came to my aid on Wednesday afternoon, April 6.

I was walking my dog on the Peoples Pathway when a gust of wind lifted the retractable leash out of my hand. My dog panicked and ran like a shot with the leash banging behind her.

I ran after her for a half-mile and figured she'd hopefully made it across to the Walmart parking lot when this gentleman honked his horn and told me he'd seen her run into the lot. He drove me around the parking lot, and then my cell phone rang. This other wonderful couple had seen her running and caught her when her leash finally got caught in a ditch.

Without their help, I would never have found her, so thank you all so much. I hope I can help someone else like that some day!
