Eagles, Clovers battle on track Tuesday

On Tuesday, the junior high track teams from South Putnam and Cloverdale battled, with South Putnam coming out on top 66-51.

South Putnam posted 10 wins on the night. Lane Franklin won the 2,400-meter run, while Lucas Lorian won the 100-meter dash, the 400-meter run and the long jump.

Berendt Freeman won the 1,600-meter run and Noah Taylor won the 800-meter run. Joey Master won both the discus and the shot put. The 1,600-meter relay also won.

For Cloverdale, Kolton Wilkes won the high jump, while teammate Jake Waycott won the long jump. Rylan Mattocks placed first in the 110-meter hurdles and the team of Garry Spencer, Jacob Boldman, Kolton Knapp and Wilkes won the 400-meter relay.
