Dorothy M. Overshiner Ault, 91, of Greencastle passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011.

She was born on May 26, 1919 in Bloomington, Ill. to James Poynter and Ada Ashby Poynter.

Mrs. Ault was a 1938 graduate of Belle Union High School and retired from DePauw University with 30 years of service in the housekeeping department, and had been employed at the senior center in Greencastle.

She was a member of First Assembly of God (The Store House) and a member of the senior center, where she volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels and assisting her husband with transporting seniors to their appointments. Dorothy enjoyed camping trips and taking care of animals, especially cats.

Surviving are her husband, Edward E. Ault, whom she married on Sept. 26, 1992; her children, Teletha Pettit, Marilyn Byrd and husband Ronald, Marvin Overshiner and wife Kathy, Duane Overshiner and wife Judy, Richard Overshiner and Larry Overshiner; two brothers, Earl Poynter and wife Helen and James Poynter; sister-in-law Marjorie Myers; 23 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Thelma Bennett, great-granddaughter Tara Dunn and grandson Richard Overshiner.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, with Pastor Troy Trout officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
