The Greencastle Middle School boy's track team hosted Cascade and Cloverdale Thursday and ran away with the win. GMS won with 72 points, followed by Cascade with 42 and Cloverdale with 19.

GMS head coach Art Dwigans said multiple person best times were posted despite the strong winds. Posting personal bests were Elijah Brattain in the 2,400-meters, Taylor Secrest in the 1,600-meters, Nathan Grzeseik and Sedrick Weinschenk in the 110-meter hurdles, Grzeseik in the 200-meters and Secrest in the 800-meters.

GMS took the top three spots in the long jump with Grzeseik placing first, Jacob Lewis second and Calvin Hughes was third. Brayden White won the discus, with Zach Secrest placing second.

"With such a young team I am really proud of how the kids are stepping up in their individual events," Dwigans said. "And even in events they don't normally run, with a team of 16 sixth-graders who are fearless, and will step up to run at any given time and in any heat, and then perform."
