Barbara Ann Buckelew

Barbara Ann Buckelew, 70, Sun Lakes, Ariz., passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Jan. 15, 2011. She was born in Springhill, La. on Nov. 23, 1940.

She was a schoolteacher and proudly taught school in four states: Louisiana, Virginia, Indiana and Kansas. She was a talented artist and doll maker who was blessed with an abundance of creative skills.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Carlos Buckelew of Sun Lakes; daughters Sue Blake and husband Mark of Greencastle and Lisa Summers and husband Sean of Chandler, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and a sister, Tam Bryan and husband Marty of Pineville, La.

Due to weather conditions in February, the memorial service to celebrate her life has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 7 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Greencastle. Family will receive friends at 1 p.m.
