Irene Tzouanakis Brant

Irene (Tzouanakis) Brant was born and raised in Greencastle, the daughter of a Greek immigrant. She married World War II veteran and golf pro Larry Brant, had five children, and moved to Cincinnati.

Irene died in her home in Cincinnati at age 85, with family members by her side.

She is survived by her children, Judith, Jeff, Joan, Jane and Jerome; nine grandchildren; and five great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by husband Larry and grandson Jeffrey.

Irene will return home to Greencastle for her funeral and burial. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Darvin Winters officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
