Steven A. Clearwater

Mr. Steven A. Clearwater, 62, of Bainbridge, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born Nov. 5, 1948 in Greencastle, the son of Richard and Bernice (Hochstetler) Clearwater, he attended Belle Union schools and graduated from Fillmore High School class of 1966. Steve was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the United States Navy.

Steve was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Greencastle for 37 years before falling ill last fall. Steve knew just about every customer on a first name basis. He was a member of the Roachdale Christian Church and faithfully attended Worship.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Janice "Jan" (Williams) Clearwater; children, Heather (Chad) Lawson, Ryan (Rachel) Gruenholz, and Jerod Gruenholz; brother, Ed (Sharron) Clearwater; sister, Linda (Gary) Crane; six grandchildren; brother-in-law, Kent (Mary) Williams; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Mick Buchanan officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday.
