McCloud Nature Park

Bring your camera out to McCloud Nature Park on Saturday, July 30 to capture some of the butterflies, birds and bees, or pollinators that call the prairie home.

The vast array of wildflowers at McCloud Nature Park has attracted a variety of pollinators. A park naturalist will lead a short hike at 2 p.m. from the Nature Center to the butterfly garden, and then on to survey the bloom activity in other parts of the park.

Participants will learn about the life cycles of these creatures during this free program and pick up a few identification tips from a naturalist to help them recognize our native bugs. Then those interested can conclude the day wading through Big Walnut Creek, or relaxing by the garden watching the pollinators work.

McCloud Nature Park is located five minutes south of North Salem at 8518 N. Hughes Rd. Admission is always free and the park is open from dawn to dusk daily. The nature center is open Wednesday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
