Street resurfacing, sidewalk replacement projects set
East Side, West Side, all around the town ...
That's where the City of Greencastle street resurfacing and sidewalk replacement projects are scheduled for 2011.
During a brief special session Wednesday, the Greencastle Board of Public Works and Safety unanimously authorized Mayor Sue Murray to sign a notice of award and notice to proceed on the two separate projects.
Wabash Valley Asphalt, Terre Haute, was the successful bidder on the street resurfacing project at $149,640.80.
Wabash Valley was the lone bidder on the work, although another firm reported picked up an information packet on the project but did not submit a bid.
Joe Spiker Excavating and Construction, Greencastle, was the low bidder on the sidewalk removal and replacement project at $106,931. The sidewalk work was stipulated for substantial completion by Oct. 1.
The only other bidder on the sidewalk project was Bret Hurley Construction, Greencastle, at $136,020.
The street repaving and resurfacing work will include portions of Wood Street, Locust Street, Jackson Boulevard, Olive Street, Toddson Drive and Frazier Street.
