Wood Stripped

Motorists on Wood Street are getting a rough ride this week after Greencastle Public Works employees milled the road on Monday as the first phase of resurfacing. Workers use a street sweeper to gather the remaining road dust and debris following the milling process. The work is being performed from just south of the Washington Street intersection to the south edge of the Seminary Street intersection.

  • Also noticed this goes in front of the DePauw presidents home and ends there. There are two streets in the De Pauw campus that are being repaved also. Is DePauw underwriting the cost of these streets? There are many more in town that are in worse shape than these streets were. Bet they are done before school starts there.

    How about putting Berry St on the list at the mill area, Sunset Drive and Indiana street from Berry to Jackson, Indianapolis Road from in front of Krogers to in front of Taco Bell. That street is horroble.

  • I totally agree, dumpsterdiva2. The Berry Street area and that road in front of Mama Nunz that goes back to Humble Pie is horrid!! I thought I punctured my tire there!

  • When and where did the city of Greencastle post a listing of proposed street resurfacing projects for the year of 2011? Did the city council or board of works ask for public comment prior to approving any projects?
