The South Putnam volleyball team lost in three sets to Clay City Thursday. The Eagles lost 25-13, 25-18 and 25-13.

Emily Dabkowski had five points and five kills for South Putnam, while Alex McHugh added four kills. Ericka Minor had six points for the Eagles.

"Clay City had a well rounded team," South Putnam head coach Renata Hendrickson said. "We played well, but they made us realize here are a few things we can improve on. In the second game they did a good job making a come back. We just fell short. It was a good learning experience and in all the girls worked hard."

The South Putnam junior varsity team won 25-20 and 25-19.
