The second annual Buzzard Run is coming up this Sunday, Sept. 25.

Hosted by the Putnam County Convention & Visitor Bureau in partnership with Chief's, the event will feature such events as a car show, a motorcycle scavenger hunt, as well as live music and great food.

Registration for the motorcycle scavenger hunt will begin at 9 a.m. on the Greencastle Square and will cost $25 per motorcycle. Participants will ride all over the Putnam County in search of things that community is known for.

Prizes for the top scores include $200 cash, a stay at the Inn at DePauw, four box seats to an Indianapolis Indians' baseball game and more.

All proceeds will be donated to Coats for Kids program and the Cloverdale Main Street Christmas Program for Kids.

There will also be a "Pimped Out for Charity" silent auction with several items such as Indiana Repertory Theater tickets, movie passes for Silverscreen Entertainments, as well as Harley-Davidson belts, watches and sunglasses.

"We're hoping to entice more and more people out of county to visit the bridges and what we have to offer," said Sharon Eiteljorge, assistant director for the Putnam County Convention and Visitor Bureau,.

Chief's will have a beer garden and a barbecue pit serving up such food as barbecue pork, chicken, cole slaw and barbecue beans.

Chief's will have live music from classic rock bands Drop Dead Joker, Wanted on Fire and After Party that will run from 1-6 p.m.

"It's our way of showing thanks for the support," Chief's owner Steve Geabes said. "We're just trying to keep this downtown alive."

Other activities include a bungee jump and rock wall provided by the National Guard, while Rods to Relics will be hosting a car show. Prizes will be given out to those who complete the scavenger hunt.
