A 22-year-old Greencastle woman faces five charges after her arrest early Monday, City Police reported.

Tiffany Dill was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of battery, battery on a police officer, resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct, and neglect of a dependent.

Dill was arrested at 12:10 a.m. by Capt. Charles Inman, who was called to Northview Apartments off North Arlington Street on the report of a fight in progress.

Dill was the only subject arrested in an incident that reportedly began, police said, with two women allegedly smoking the substance Spice.

Inman was assisted at the scene by Deputies Jon Chadd and Terry Smith.

Five people were arrested late Sunday after Officer Eric Vaughan was called to the 517 E. Washington St., Apt. 8 residence of Anthony Michael Cox, 24.

Cox was taken to Putnam County Jail and held on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and false reporting or informing.

Tyler Jacob Edwards, 20, New Whiteland, was taken to PCJ on charges of identity deception, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and false reporting or informing.

Dustin Healey, 21, Amo, and Alanna Tinch, 18, Cloverdale, were both lodged in the jail on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and false reporting or informing.

A 17-year-old Cloverdale juvenile also faces a charge of false reporting or informing in the incident.

Four area teenagers are facing alcohol charges after they were cited Friday night by Officer Matt Huffman.

Police were reportedly called to a Castlebury Drive residence on the report of a loud party. Cited for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in the 11:30 p.m. incident were:

-- Samantha Smith, 19, Greencastle, who registered .19 percent under portable breathalyzer testing (PBT).

-- Kayla Pierce, 18, Reelsville, who registered .049 percent on the PBT.

-- A 17-year-old Poland juvenile, who registered .072 percent under PBT testing.

-- A 16-year-old Greencastle male, who registered .005 percent on the PBT test.

At 11 p.m. Saturday, Barry Mason, 42, Greencastle, was arrested by Capt. Inman on Sycamore Street and lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Mason, who was wanted on an outstanding Kentucky warrant, faces charges of reckless possession of paraphernalia and false or fictitious registration of his vehicle.

Two recent accidents involved minor personal injury, city officers reported.

-- At 12:24 p.m. Sunday, a two-car accident resulted in minor injury to one driver and a young passenger.

Brooke Plummer, 17, Greencastle, was westbound on Martinsville Street, attempting to pull out onto Bloomington Street through a gap in stopped northbound traffic. As she pulled her 2001 Toyota Celica into traffic, it collided with a southbound 2003 Pontiac, driven by Emily Burns, 26, Greencastle.

Plummer suffered back and chest pain and was taken via ambulance to Putnam County Hospital.

A five-year-old passenger in the Burns car was checked out at the scene for a head contusion but was not transported.

The collision resulted in an estimated $2,500-$5,000 damage, Officer Jeff Modlin reported.

-- At 3:56 p.m. Saturday, a three-car mishap on Indianapolis Road resulted in the arrest of one driver for allegedly leaving the scene of the accident.

Henry Zimmer, 25, Greencastle, was lodged in Putnam County Jail for leaving the scene. He was also cited for having no insurance, Officer Modln said.

Zimmer said the brakes on the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica he was driving locked up on the rain-covered roadway just west of McDonald's. His vehicle ran into the rear of a 2005 Pontiac, driven by Samantha Lucas, 17, Roachdale, which was pushed into a 1997 Mercury, driven by Timothy Riddle, 18, Greencastle.

Lucas was checked out at the scene for possible airbag burns to her hand.

Total damage in the accident was listed at $1,000-$2,500.

Seven recent traffic citations were issued by GPD officers.

-- At 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Warren Harlan, 81, Greencastle, was cited by Officer Albert Epple for 55 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street.

-- At 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sierra Donham, 18, Terre Haute, was ticketed on Bloomington Street by Officer Epple for 70 mph in a 50-mph zone.

-- At 8:16 p.m. Monday, Nicholas Anderson, 34, Albany, Ga., was ticketed on Fillmore Road by Officer Vaughan for 51 mph in a 30-mph zone.

-- At 12:50 a.m. Sunday, Jennifer Hassler, 32, Greencastle, was stopped on Washington Street by Officer Huffman for having an expired license plate.

-- At 2 a.m. Saturday, Brenda Edwards, 43, Danville, was cited by Officer Nick Eastham for 50 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street.

-- At 4:43 a.m. Friday, Jason Morley, 40, Spencer, was stopped by Officer Eastham at Percy Julian Drive and State Road 240 for an expired license plate.

-- At 1:07 a.m. Friday, Anthony Serio, 25, Indianapolis, was ticketed on Bloomington Street by Officer Eastham for 50 mph in a 30-mph zone.
