State association officials address Putnam Coin Club

Former Indiana State Numismatic Association President Vinton Dove, of Indianapolis gives a presentation on the basics of coin collecting at the recent Putnam County Coin Club meeting.

At its monthly meeting on Oct. 10, the Putnam County Coin Club welcomed two representatives of the Indiana State Numismatic Association, President David Reid and Past President Vinton Dove, both of Indianapolis.

Dove provided members with a presentation on the basics of coin collecting. He discussed such topics as price lists, books and equipment, and shared some of his own stories from more than half a century as a member of the hobby.

The Putnam County Coin Club was established in 1962 and serves more than 80 members across west-central Indiana.

Meetings are held at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month at the Greencastle Nazarene Church, 580 S. CR 100 East (Round Barn Road), Greencastle.
