Clarence 'Jack' Richardson

Clarence "Jack" Richardson, 88, of Fillmore and formerly of Indianapolis passed away on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011.

He was born on April 24, 1923 in Indianapolis to Ulysses Simpson Grant Richardson and Talitha Ann Kale Richardson.

Jack was a graduate of Emmerich Manual Training High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He retired as a self-employed tractor trailer painter for Fruehauf Trailer Corp.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 13 siblings, Ruth, Lillian Agnes, Pearl, Beulah, Grace, Ella Mae, Lester, Frank, Hezekiah, Clifford, Alvin, Chester and Arthur.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Lela; seven children, Guy S. Richardson and wife Linda of Beaufort, S.C., Curtis A. Richardson and wife Wendy of Fillmore, Peggy L. Abner and husband Randy of Plainfield, Dr. James D. Richardson and wife Melodie of Danville, Dale P. Richardson and wife Lynell of Avon, Dallas P. Richardson and wife Vi of Big Sandy, Tenn., and Sharon M. Richardson of Fillmore; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Lloyd Tucker officiating.

Interment will follow at Fillmore Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on 5-8 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 25 at the funeral home.
