Local trick-or-treat hours, information

Monday, October 31, 2011

Putnam County communities have established trick-or-treat hours for Monday, Halloween night, as:

Greencastle -- 5-8 p.m.

Cloverdale -- 6-8 p.m.

Fillmore -- 5-8 p.m.

Bainbridge -- 6-8 p.m.

Russellville -- 6-8 p.m.

Roachdale -- 7-9 p.m.

As is the custom locally, residents welcoming trick-or-treaters to their home should turn on their porch light during the appropriate period. Likewise, revelers are asked to skip homes that do not have their outside light illuminated.

Both the downtown Greencastle trick-or-treat event and the annual Putnam County Public Library party are set for 4-6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31.

The library will be giving an age-appropriate new book as a treat. Partygoers are encouraged to come in costume.

Also, the Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department has announced it will be checking candy from 5-8 p.m. Monday or whenever the last bag of candy is checked at the Cloverdale Fire Station.

CTVFD firefighters will have trick-or-treat bags with candy for anyone who stops in, along with popcorn, lemonade and orange drink for everyone.
