Jason David 'Magic' Hammond

Jason David "Magic" Hammond, age 41, of Calhoun, Ga., died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 at his residence.

He was born in Greencastle, Ind., on Oct. 27, 1970, son of Alan Ralph Hammond and Cynthia Jane Godfrey Anderson.

A brother, Ross Alan Hammond, and a sister, Amy Marie Trueblood preceded him in death.

Jason was a graduate of Coosa Valley Tech with a degree in computer science, and was self-employed as a magician.

He was a veteran, serving his country in the United States Army.

Survivors include a son, Jacob Hammond; and the mother of his child, Sherry Stansell of Calhoun; his father, Alan Ralph Hammond of Indiana; his mother and stepfather, Cynthia Jane Godfrey Anderson and James R. Anderson of Calhoun; and stepbrothers, Phillip Anderson and Doel Anderson.

Funeral services for Mr. Jason David Hammond will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 from chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating.

Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers are Robert Ballard, Caleb Stansell, Kevin Ballard, Fred Creekmore, Lee Kelsoe, Chris Bingiel and Scott Daley. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Friday at 1:15 p.m.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
