Putnam FOP holds 'Santa Drop'

Monday, November 14, 2011

For the past 11 years the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 92 has delivered toys to needy children in Putnam County in an effort known as the "FOP Santa Drop."

Last year was the biggest year yet, providing toys to more than 30 kids. Last year they not only received toys, they received items such as coats, winter boots hats, gloves and school supplies.

The Putnam County Fraternal Order of Police would like the public's help again this year in assisting the children of Putnam County. All donations received will go to presents for kids.

Applications are thoroughly screened and sorted with the most needy children at the top of the list. The presents are then wrapped and delivered by Santa Claus.

Donations can be dropped off at the Greencastle Police Department or mailed to the Greencastle Police Department at 600 N. Jackson St., Greencastle, IN 46135.

If you have any questions, contact GPD Assistant Chief Brian Hopkins at 848-1529 or Darcy Hendershot at 848-1540

Applications can be found at the Greencastle Police Department during normal business hours.

The deadline for dropping off applications is Dec. 9.
