Winter Market opens today in old Prevo store
The Greencastle Farmers Market is back ... the Winter Market that is.
Beginning today, Saturday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., the Winter Market will be located indoors at 2 E. Washington St., in part of the old Prevo building (corner of Indiana and Washington streets).
The Winter Market will run on Saturdays (except for Dec. 24) through December.
Cathryn Ensley, who chairs the Friends of the Farmers' Market, says the Winter Market will include such offerings as:
-- Country Sisters bringing jams, jellies, gift baskets and stained glass crosses.
-- Bobby Zaring with squash, eggs and onions.
-- Yvonne Clifford with wool yarn, hats, mittens and sweaters, soaps and lotions.
-- Brett Wagner with pork, chicken and beef.
-- Don and Kathy Harris offering handmade beds for 18-inch dolls along with bedding and clothes, as well as holiday hanging towels, baby bibs, apron sets for all sizes, quilted wallets and purses.
-- Joyce O'Brien with handmade soaps, candles, fresh eggs and baked goods.
-- Monta Gazvoda with jams, jellies, plants and various crafts.
-- Jennifer Herrold with Greencastle postcards, a few paintings, holiday cards and paper dolls.
-- Lori Manning with tie-dyes, homemade natural cleaning supplies and herbal salves.
-- Geno's Kettle Corn with bags of its kettle corns.
-- The Blue Door Café with baked goods from its in-house baker.
Meanwhile, the Greencastle Chamber of Commerce will be selling its "Buy Local Gift Certificates" in increments of $10 and $25 as well as 2011 Greencastle Keepsake Christmas Ornaments featuring Ivy Tech Community College -- Greencastle Campus ($10 each).
